After 1 December 2015, if you have not recorded an organ donation decision (opt in or opt out), you will be treated as having no objection to donating any of your organs.

You can change your organ donation decision at any time.

When you click the options below to register your decision, you will be redirected to the website for the UK-wide NHS Organ Donor Register (run by NHS Blood and Transplant).

You should receive a letter confirming your organ donation decision within 2 weeks. If you do not receive this, please call the helpline on 0300 123 23 23.

This is not the same as opting out. If you remove your recorded organ donation decision from the NHS Organ Donor Register, then, from 1 December 2015, you will be treated as having no objection to donating any of your organs. To opt out or register a decision not to donate, use the I don’t want to be an organ donor form above.

The new law will apply to adults who live and die in Wales.

You will need to live in Wales for 12 months or more and it won’t apply to some adults such as those who may lack mental capacity.
